CARBON DIOXIDE REMOVAL FROM NATURAL GAS

The removal of carbon dioxide from gas mixtures such as natural gas is very important. CO2 is contained in the atmosphere, natural gas, exhaust gas from combustion of fossil fuels and by-product from industrial process. Its concentration in the earth’s atmosphere has risen by more than 30 % since the industrial revolution and has been identified as one of the major culprit responsible for the ever increasing weather disasters. Several options exist to reduce the emission of carbon dioxide, including the substitution of nuclear power for fossil fuels, increasing the efficiency of fossil plants, substitution of natural gas for coal, and the separation and capture of CO2 prior to emission into the environment.
